Recent government inspections of PWA facilities and operations have raised attention to ongoing problems, many deferred for far too long. And even though the quality of our drinking water has consistently met safety requirements, other issues have brought about a boil alert in April and a score of “F” by state regulators for 2024. Continued operation without change raises the real possibility of receivership. To methodically address deferred maintenance, solidify a professional rapport with State regulators, improve treatment where possible, and raise our performance score, your Board has engaged a professional water utilities management and operations contractor, Cenla Environmental Science, a division of EOM Public Works, LLC (EOM/Cenla). This company, based in Georgia, has assisted informally with regulatory issues already and by doing so, makes it clear that their services and capabilities will serve PWA well in the future.
We are moving our monthly Board meeting regularly scheduled for June 17th to June 24th at 5:00 PM at the Toledo Town Venue, 11984 Texas Hwy. We invite you to attend to meet representatives of EOM/Cenla and hear about this exciting new path forward for the improvement of our water company.
